Update 46: No time for love, Dr. Jones.

March 27th, 2006 by The Reverend Menagerie

I’m reminded of a Steve Miller Band song as I scrape enough time up to sit and write an entry here.

No, I will not be posting that song. I’ve heard it far too much thanks to the time I spent working as an inventory specialist. I’m just now able to hear John Mayer again without cringing. I’m serious on that, too.

I’ve gotten a few emails about the new look, which most seem to approve of (not that it would change if most didn’t… I like the new look, and I pay the hosting bill.) I’ve also gotten an email or two about the amount of advertisements. I’m trying a new service, and if it works, good. If not, those ads will be removed. Anything that works, I’m pretty much okay with.

I’ve been working a lot of overtime this week to help make up for the time I took off while searching for a new car (which works far better than the old car did, and makes me a happy little case study in road rage. [Other drivers suck. It’s that simple]). Today has been my first day off since I resumed my normal shift schedule, and last week I put in over 70 hours. This week I’ll probably only do about 50 or so. (Only 50, heh. Overtime begins at 40 hours here). At any rate, I need to do some laundry, so songs will be posted with little information beyond “this is what I’m listening to this week”.

I will say that the reason for these songs has to do with an old friend and myself talking about a while back when we both did E-wrestling federations, and how the WWE and TNA would never let people use those songs as theme music. At least the ones for my wrestlers, since I chose music I liked, not always a popular path in choosing a theme.

It also made me think about my “flagship” wrestling character, who appeared damn near everywhere I did, even making it to Soulxchange.com (and .net) and GaiaOnline. A holdover from my White-wolf gamer days, he’s been around in some form pretty much as long as I have.

With that in mind, I wondered what he might use as theme music now, and with that, I bring the music. 5 songs, with the last being the choice he would use today, if he was actually in the WWE or TNA.

The X-Ecutioners - (Even) More Human Than Human (Ft. Rob Zombie, Slug from Atmosphere, and Josey Scott from Saliva)

Outkast - Gasoline Dreams

The Who - Baba O’Riley

Iggy Pop - I Wanna Be Your Dog

Manic Street Preachers - Condemned To Rock ‘N’ Roll
